Maggie #22
A nice manga style picture by sh3 accompanies his Robert Miles paroday mod.
The big news this issue was about the Centek Phenix, a new wonder computer
from France that had everyone excited. We were slightly cautious, remembering
the farce of the MicroBox. But this information was far more definite
and far more exciting!
The Siliconvention 97 is announced and various members of the Maggie team
make plans to attend.
Felice attends the Birmingham and London atari shows and does his
"fair share of showing off." Demos were shown at "regular intervals".
We learn that "Mr Forgetful was certainly busy the night before the Birmingham
show as well".
A new Dutch coder called EarX writes in with news of his forthcoming games.
The Maggie awards of 1996 are handed out. It is a pretty lean year
with more 4k intros released than anything else. Of the big demos,
the works of Mysfits, Hydroxid and "AirDirt" are congratulated.
There is a three-part encylopedia of diskmags covering every atari
publication that managed to get ascii characters into a text file!
Arto reveals his plans to code a demo with Reservoir Gods, but
is a "bit tired at the moment". Time to wake up!
David Encill of Titan Designs discusses the atari marketplace,
his relation with Black Scorpion Software and their
forthcoming productions.
Data of Trio talks about his Doom conversion for the Falcon and
his battle to beat Doug Little and the Bad Mood team.
There is even a vintage interview with atari founder Nolan Bushnell.
