Maggie #3
A massive issue of maggie spanning two disks, with more articles than ever seen
before and lots of free programs and source code.
An intro from new TLB member Digital Insanity kicks off the issue. It makes
heavy use of Spaz's classic MegaDeath font - surely the Atari equivalent of
the Knighthawks font!
There are also intros from Fingerbobs, Empire and The Lower Level, as well as the Charts.
French musicians Lap and ENS contribute the music for this issue.
Sammy Joe makes a helpful ASCII map for the alliance's Skid Row demo.
New Mode gets the writing bug and contributes a review of turbo assembler. A taste of things to come.
"Life's A Bitch" gets a perfect 10 score from a completely unbiased Sammy Joe.
Elsewhere, the competition by french magazine Gen4 has led to a glut of demos from the
french demo crews. I seem to remember that during these months every other demo seemed
to have a Gen4 logo slapped on it.
There is the complete story of the Overlanders, charting their progress from hackers and
swappers to kings of the demoscene.
Mutant Monthly stretches to a distressing 32 pages. Those that can manage to read it all should
get some sort of award.
The hidden quest's questions have a slightly german bias.
Thalion's game "Warp" is highly praised, although its lead programmer, Micheal Bittner,
is more famous these days for contributing the burps and vomit sounds to the Life's A Bitch
menu.
Dennis Zubkow writes a fascinating piece about computers in Russia.
A great issue, but spreading a two disk production was enough to drive anybody mad, and
never again did Maggie attempt to make a multiple disk issue.
